Gym, Gin & a Weekend Away (Okay... maybe just the gin and the spa)
Right then.Summer is officially over.
Put down the Pimm’s.
Step away from the crisps.
And let’s all collectively drag ourselves back into some sort of vaguely functional routine. 🫠
🏋️♀️ The Return to the Gym (Not to Be Confused with Enthusiasm)
This week kicked off with something wildly unfamiliar…
…me.
At the gym.
Willingly.
Before 9am.
💭"Who even am I?"
💭"Should I call someone?"
💭"Is this what personal growth looks like?"
It turns out — once you get past the mirrors, the terrifying clunk of weights, and the fact that some people actuallysmilewhile doing cardio (suspicious) — it’s notthatbad.
Small victories:
✅ I didn’t fall off the treadmill.
✅ I resisted the vending machine.
✅ I showed up.
And honestly? That’s half the battle.
🛍️ A Retail Recharge: The Ultimate Cross-Training
Midweek, we packed our bags and escaped for along weekend away— 3 nights, just me, the husband, and a commitment to recharging. And by “recharging,” I mean:
Walking miles through shops while pretending it’s cardio.
Holding shopping bags like dumbbells for resistance training.
Mentally rehearsing my "do I really need this?" speech every 5 minutes.
💰Wallet: Weeping.
🩵Mood: Lifted.
👣Steps: Through the roof!
Honestly, the combination of gentle movement, less stress, and absolutely no spreadsheet emergencies did wonders for my soul.
🧖♀️ Sunday Self-Care: The Grand Finale
Late Sunday afternoon, I made what can only be described as an exceptional life choice:
✨A 120-minute spa treatment.✨
Back massage + facial = 2 full hours of bliss.
I came out of that treatment room glowing like a well-fed influencer, smelling faintly of eucalyptus, and genuinely wondering why I don’t do this every Sunday.
📓Journaling Prompt of the Week
💭Where do I feel most energised right now?
Is it the gym? The spa? Wandering through shops with an iced latte and zero responsibilities?
Wherever it is — write it down.
That space, that feeling, is your recharge point.
How can you create more of it during busy weeks?
🌟 Remember: self-care isn’t selfish. It’s survival.
⚖️ Weekly Round-Up
💦 Spa hours: 2
🏋️♀️ Gym sessions: 1 (small but mighty!)
🛍️ Steps powered by retail: Many
🧠 Mood: Rebooted
⚖️Weight loss: 0.9lb— slow, steady and STILL GOING!
Sometimes, the biggest progress isn’t just the number on the scale — it’s how we show up for ourselves when no one’s watching.
Here’s to routines that feel good, weekends thatresetus, and massages that somehow rearrange your soul 🧘♀️💆♀️✨
