A self-trust boost wrapped in 5 feel-good habits.
Start your 30-day “I’m Doing This” Challenge and take the first small step toward lasting change.
For years, I felt stuck. Trapped in a cycle of emotional eating, shame, and feeling like real change was for other people. I lived with pain from lymphedema, carrying nearly 20 stone, my weight creeping up each year, whilst nothing I did made a impact. Then I discovered something different and for the first time, I started to believe it wasn’t too late.
I have started taking Mounjaro, a licensed drug to help treat obesity in the UK. I had been thinking about starting this treatment for quite a while and looked into this and other alternatives that are available in the UK.
There is so much misinformation about these drugs online and in the media so I hope I can help by sharing my experiences and provide you all with more information through my blog posts.
If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a message or let me know if there is anything in particular you would like me to discuss.
Please note that I am only documenting my experience, always do your own research and speak to a doctor or pharmacy for medical advice or if you have concerns whilst taking GLP1 medication.
With love, Helen 🩷
BBQs, evening walks, garden glory and self-restraint...
If you’re looking for this week’s theme, it’s summer serenity meets grown-up self-control. I’ve been leaning into every sun-drenched moment — fewer gym visits, yes, but many more joyful steps outside. And no, that doesn’t mean skipping movement altogether... it just means replacing treadmill sweat with sunset strolls and calling it balance. 🌅🚶♀️
Ladies and gents, I bring you breaking news from the greenhouse:
🥬 Lettuce harvested
🐛 No caterpillar invasions
🏆 Helen: 1 — Butterflies: 0
I don’t want to say I’m smug… but I am. And the tomatoes? They’ve decided to take over entirely. I swear one vine is attempting to escape through the roof. Tomato-geddon is upon us. 🍅
Even the chillies are showing off — all heat and drama, just like me in Week 28. 🌶️😅
The sun’s out, which means my husband has entered his “I’ll just have a little something chilled” era — nightly.
Now, don’t get me wrong, the temptation is real. The wine bottle calls to me in the soft summer breeze like an ex I know is no good for me but still looks really good in the moonlight. 😏🍷
But I resist!
I’ve got my trusty Stanley Cup filled to the brim with:
💧 Ice cold water
🍋 Fresh lemon
🌿 Herbs from the garden (Mint! Rosemary! Basil!)
I am, officially, that person now — and I’m not mad about it. Cheers to hydration goals met and wine-free evenings where I still remember what I said at 9pm. ✨
Only a couple of swim sessions this week. And yes, I’ve skipped the gym again. But honestly, who wants to be indoors on a treadmill when the sky is this blue and the evenings are this soft and golden?
Movement comes in many forms. Right now, mine just happens to include watering plants and strutting around the garden in flip-flops like Monty Don with better toenail polish. 💅🌻
Still on the 10mg dose and finally feeling back to my normal self. 🙌
No lingering side effects.
No food aversions.
No chicken Kiev trauma (although I haven’t been brave enough to try again yet).
Just me, living in a body that feels more energised, lighter, and stronger than it did a few months ago.
It’s amazing how one small decision — to stick with a dose that works — can make such a difference. I’m glad I advocated for myself. (Pharmacy, take note. 📞)
“You don’t need to be extreme. You just need to be consistent.”
This journey isn’t about all-or-nothing.
It’s about something, consistently.
Some weeks that’s gym.
Some weeks that’s greenhouse domination and evening walks.
But every week, it’s choosing you again. 🌼
✨ What does “healthy” look like for me this week — not ideally, but realistically?
🌱 And what’s one small promise I can keep to myself that moves me closer to that version?
Drumroll please...
Weight loss this week: ⬇️ 1.2 lbs
And we are still inching towards that next milestone. 🥳
Week 39 wasn’t about smashing the gym or ticking off every habit perfectly.
It was about listening to my body, soaking in the sunshine, sipping lemon water, and quietly stacking up wins.
Slowly, softly, steadily — I’m still doing this. 🌻
