"I'm Doing This"

Challenge

A self-trust boost wrapped in 5 feel-good habits.
Start your 30-day “I’m Doing This” Challenge and take the first small step toward lasting change.

Hi, I'm Helen

For years, I felt stuck. Trapped in a cycle of emotional eating, shame, and feeling like real change was for other people. I lived with pain from lymphedema, carrying nearly 20 stone, my weight creeping up each year, whilst nothing I did made a impact. Then I discovered something different and for the first time, I started to believe it wasn’t too late.

I have started taking Mounjaro, a licensed drug to help treat obesity in the UK. I had been thinking about starting this treatment for quite a while and looked into this and other alternatives that are available in the UK.

There is so much misinformation about these drugs online and in the media so I hope I can help by sharing my experiences and provide you all with more information through my blog posts.

If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a message or let me know if there is anything in particular you would like me to discuss.

Please note that I am only documenting my experience, always do your own research and speak to a doctor or pharmacy for medical advice or if you have concerns whilst taking GLP1 medication.

With love, Helen 🩷

🎉 Good news: Back on track after my holiday

🎉 Good news: No adverse side effects after missing dose

Week 51

Paddington, Prescription Lenses & Post-Holiday Sugar Cravings

October 21, 20253 min read

🎉 Good news: I survived Marrakesh.
🎉 Even better news: I survived my first missed dose.
🎉 And the best news of all: I’m officially BACK.

(With a slightly squinty side-eye because apparently, my vision has decided it’s time for adramaticflair…)

👓 Eye Spy... A New Prescription

Back to Paddington this week – the joys of a very early alarm, a delayed train (obviously), and a freezing platform at 5:30am. I swear the train  is colder than anywhere else in Northamptonshire – it’s like it has its own weather system. 🥶

But the main headline? Eye test complete. Verdict in.
My eyesight has done a littleplot twistover the last year. 📉
Apparently, all that weight I’ve lost… did not come off my eyeballs. Who knew?!

New specs are incoming next week – can’t wait to see the world (and the bathroom scales) in HD again. 👀🎯

💉 Dose Restart – No Drama, No Digestive Disasters

You might remember from last week’s Moroccan drama that Icompletely forgotto take my Mounjaro injection before the holiday. Yep. Almost a year in and I finally missed one.

So this week, back on the 10mg pen —and no side effects!🎉
No nausea, no bathroom roulette, no sofa slumping. Honestly, I wasso relieved— that dose had previously wiped me out.

A huge win and another gentle reminder that sometimes our bodies are just… fine. And sometimes, not panicking is the most productive thing we can do.

🍯 The Sugar Monster Rises…

Now let’s talk cravings.

I don’t know what they put in Moroccan food (wait, yes I do:honey, dates, nuts, more honey, and some more honey) but the sugar monster is back. 🐉🍫

For the first few days post-holiday, I swear I could smell a KitKat from four rooms away.
I started hearing the Mr Kipling cakes call my name like a Disney villainess seducing me with fondant fancies. 🍰💀

But here’s the thing: Ididn’tcave.

I’ve leaned on balanced meals, filled with protein, fibre, and flavour – because sometimes the best way to silence a craving is to nourish the body properly before the brain tricks you into “needing” an entire Toblerone at 8pm.

⚖️ Weight Loss Update: A Sweet Surprise

Drum roll please... 🥁

6.2lbs DOWN this week!
After an 8lb holiday gain, that means nearly all the post-holiday fluff isgone.
(And I’m not talking about the towels in the hotel room.)

The body is amazing. Honestly, it wanted to come back into balance — it just needed a nudge, some water, and fewer pastries drenched in syrup. 😅

📓 Journaling Prompt of the Week

*When you experience cravings — especially after a break, a celebration, or a “treat week” — what stories do you tell yourself?

How can you shift from guilt to curiosity? What does your bodyactuallyneed in that moment?*

(Top tip: it’s usually not the cake. But it might be comfort, connection, or calm. And those are all things we can nourish in other ways 💛)

✨ Week 51 Reflection

I feel good. Not perfect. But good.
Grounded. Back in rhythm. Rebuilding those solid habits I’ve been working on for nearly a year now.

This week wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t a breakthrough. But it was steady. And steady is what lasting change looks like.

Mounjaro isn’t just about weight loss.
It’s about food freedom. It’s about less noise.
It’s about finding you again — without the constant internal war over every biscuit.

💬Who else is dealing with post-holiday cravings right now? Tell me your go-to “reset” meals or mindset tricks!

Next week: Glasses reveal, more spa sessions, and hopefully fewer sugar whispers... 👓🍋💦

path to change

My Story

For years, I lived with pain from lymphedema, carrying nearly 20 stone, and feeling like the best parts of life were behind me.

I knew if I didn’t make a change, I’d lose even more than just my health.

Mounjaro is helping me shift the weight, but the true transformation came from working through emotional eating and rebuilding self-trust.

Slowly, step by step I'm making real, long-lasting change.
