Helen Craddock

Hi, I'm Helen

A woman in her 50s who’s lost over 7 stone and is still learning how to show up for herself, one small step at a time.

This isn’t about perfection, quick fixes, or pressure.

It’s about progress, kindness, and building a life that feels good to live in.

For years, I felt stuck. Trapped in a cycle of emotional eating, shame, and feeling like real change was for other people. I lived with pain from lymphedema, carrying nearly 20 stone, my weight creeping up each year, whilst nothing I did made a impact. Then I discovered something different and for the first time, I started to believe it wasn’t too late.

I have started taking Mounjaro, a licensed drug to help treat obesity in the UK. I had been thinking about starting this treatment for quite a while and looked into this and other alternatives that are available in the UK.

There is so much misinformation about these drugs online and in the media so I hope I can help by sharing my experiences and provide you all with more information through my blog posts.

If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a message or let me know if there is anything in particular you would like me to discuss.

Please note that I am only documenting my experience, always do your own research and speak to a doctor or pharmacy for medical advice or if you have concerns whilst taking GLP1 medication.

With love, Helen 🩷

Deadlines, Jacuzzis, and a Weight Loss Plot Twist I Did Not See Coming

August 26, 20252 min read

🎉 STOP THE CLOCK. SOUND THE HORNS.
I have survived August.

Barely.

But. I. Am. Still. Standing. 🧍‍♀️(wobbly, but upright)

🧠 Deadlines? Complete ✅

💼 Projects? Submitted 📨
🧹 Mental state? Frazzled beyond belief 🙃

After crawling (quite literally) to the end of this week — with every work deadline hit — I can say with full confidence:

I am one missed spa trip away from a full emotional collapse.

So yes, I may very well fall asleep in the jacuzzi.
I may snore.
I may drool.
And honestly? I do not care. Because the spa is happening. 🛁✨

🪞August Recap: Chaos with a Side of Character Building

August has been a lot.
Work was intense.
Energy was low.
My patience (and fridge) ran dangerously empty.

But now that the worst is behind me, I’m planning a soft reset. A mini life review.

Not the dramatic, burn-it-all-down kind.
More the “Let me grab a notebook, a blanket, and a massive cup of herbal tea” kind.

📓 Journaling Prompt:

What do I want the last four months of 2025 to feel like?

Not just what I want to “achieve” — but how I want to feel.
Think: health, home, happiness, rest, connection, creativity.
Write it out. Be honest. Dream a little.

Sometimes we get so lost in ticking the boxes and surviving the to-do list that we forget we’re allowed to course correct.

🎢 Weekly Highlight: An Unexpected Plot Twist

So… guess who lost 4.8lbs this week?
(Yes. Me. 😳)

I literally weighed myself three times to check it wasn’t a glitch.
No fad.
No cleanse.
Just me, showing up in all my chaotic, sleep-deprived glory… and the scales dropping like I’ve been living on air and yoga. (Narrator: She had not.)

🦋 Final Thought

You know what? Life is never linear.
Progress doesn’t always come from perfection.
Sometimes you surprise yourself when you least expect it.

This week reminded me:

  • You can be totally exhausted and still moving forward.

  • Rest is not a reward — it’s a right.

  • The scales aren’t everything… but damn, they can make your day when they behave! 😂

⚖️ Weekly Recap

  • 🧘‍♀️ Spa attendance: Mandatory

  • 🧠 Brain function: 5% battery

  • 🪴 September goals: Reflect, reset, realign

  • ⚖️ Weight loss: 4.8lbsmic drop 🎤

  • 💪 Total weight lost so far: drum roll …over 6 stone and counting!

Here’s to calm mornings, clear minds, and the joy of remembering who you are — even after a month that tried to break you. 💕

My Story

For years, I lived with pain from lymphedema, carrying nearly 20 stone, and feeling like the best parts of life were behind me.

I knew if I didn’t make a change, I’d lose even more than just my health.

Mounjaro is helping me shift the weight, but the true transformation came from working through emotional eating and rebuilding self-trust.

Slowly, step by step I'm making real, long-lasting change.
